GTA VI ON PC SOONER THAN EXPECTED?
A new industry rumor suggests Rockstar may accelerate the PC release timeline.
For years, it has been almost guaranteed that PC players would have to wait significantly longer for Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar has followed the same pattern for more than a decade with consoles receiving the game first and the PC version arriving much later.
GTA V took nearly two years to reach PC.
Red Dead Redemption 2 launched on consoles in October 2018 and arrived on PC in November 2019.
A new rumor is now challenging expectations. According to Andy Robinson of VGC, a reliable industry journalist, there is early talk suggesting that Rockstar might speed up the PC version of GTA VI. Robinson did not provide dates or confirmations, so this remains a rumor, but it is a rumor that has gained attention.
WHY THIS RUMOR MATTERS
The hardware market is currently under significant pressure.
- DRAM prices are rising and increasing overall hardware costs.
- Console prices are affected by manufacturing challenges.
- GTA VI hype is creating massive demand and early shortages.
- PS5 Pro stock is disappearing from major retailers.
Analysts warn that console inventory could be strained even further once GTA VI launches. An earlier PC release would allow Rockstar to keep millions of players inside the initial hype cycle, especially those who cannot or do not want to purchase a new console.
WHAT AN EARLIER PC RELEASE COULD LOOK LIKE
If Rockstar originally planned to release the PC version roughly one year after the console launch, an accelerated schedule could potentially bring the PC release as early as Spring 2027.
Nothing is official at this time. GTA VI is still only announced for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with a confirmed release date of November 19, 2026.

Do you think Rockstar will break tradition this time? Will GTA VI arrive on PC much earlier than expected or is this simply a rumor that will fade away?
