GTA VI: THE MASSIVE MAP OF LEONIDA

All the regions, cities, and environments we know so far.

Grand Theft Auto VI isn't just returning to Vice City. Rockstar has created an entire state, Leonida, with Vice City being just one piece of a much larger world.

From trailers, official screenshots, and Rockstar's website, we now have substantial information about the different regions of the map. What's most interesting is that every area seems to have a completely distinct character. Rockstar describes Leonida as the state home to the neon-drenched streets of Vice City and beyond.

Note: GTA VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

🌴 1. VICE CITY -THE HEART OF GTA VI

Naturally, the most important region is Vice City. The city returns many years after the classic GTA: Vice City, presented in a modern vision with massive skyscrapers, beaches, clubs, marinas, commercial districts, and countless streets.

Rockstar has already published nine official screenshots exclusively for Vice City, showcasing its diversity:
  • Major highways and residential areas
  • Luxury districts and poorer neighborhoods
  • Nightclubs, stores, and hotels
  • Gas stations and industrial zones

The Beaches
One of the standout features is the massive beaches. Vice City’s coastline appears far more alive than GTA V's, packed with tourists, beachgoers, surfers, runners, vendors, boats, jet skis, and wild beach parties. The beach isn't just decorative; it's a core social hub of the city.

🏝️ 2. LEONIDA KEYS

South of Vice City lies the Leonida Keys. Inspired by the Florida Keys, this region features small islands, bridges, the ocean, and a much more relaxed lifestyle. Gameplay here will shift drastically: instead of skyscrapers, traffic, and police, expect boats, small communities, marinas, and illegal activities.

The Smuggler's Paradise
The Keys seem to have a special connection to smuggling. Brian Heder, a character introduced by Rockstar, is an old drug runner who still operates in the area. He owns a boatyard and uses old connections to continue his illicit activities, suggesting missions involving boat trafficking, small heists, and moving illegal cargo.

🏚️ 3. PORT GELLHORN

Port Gellhorn is perhaps one of the most interesting areas. In contrast to the glamorous Vice City, Port Gellhorn looks much more gritty and decadent.

Rockstar has shown five official screenshots of this area, characterized by:
  • Cheap motels and strip clubs
  • Small businesses and gas stations
  • Abandoned buildings and poorer neighborhoods
  • Streets with noticeably less traffic
Why it matters: Port Gellhorn represents the "other side" of Florida. It’s where you'll meet people you'd never see in the wealthy spots of Vice City, creating a completely different gameplay dynamic.

🏭 4. AMBROSIA

Ambrosia is a more rural and industrial sector of Leonida. This area is dominated by factories, warehouses, small communities, rural roads, and industrial facilities.

The Bikers
One of the most important elements of Ambrosia is the presence of a biker gang. This shows that GTA VI won't revolve exclusively around Vice City gangs; the countryside has its own criminal economy and factions.

🌿 5. GRASSRIVERS

If there’s one area destined to be the ultimate exploration playground, it’s the Grassrivers. The name says it all. This region is packed with swamps, rivers, dense vegetation, small islands, waterways, wildlife, and boats.

The "Wild" Side of Leonida
Grassrivers looks to be the massive equivalent of GTA V's Blaine County wilderness. Expect to encounter wild animals, fishermen, hunters, small cabins, hidden locations, and of course... Alligators. Florida wouldn't be Florida without them.

⛰️ 6. MOUNT KALAGA NATIONAL PARK

The inclusion of Mount Kalaga National Park is the biggest proof that GTA VI is not just a "Vice City game."

Featuring mountains, forests, dirt trails, wildlife, camping areas, and lakes, it's located far away from civilization. If Rockstar fills this area with collectibles, Easter eggs, and secret locations, it will take hours to fully uncover.

🗺️ TRAVEL, WATERWAYS & MAP SCALE

The Leonida Experience
In GTA V, we had Los Santos + Blaine County. In GTA VI, we have Vice City + the entire state of Leonida. You can start your day in Vice City, hit the highway, pass through rural Ambrosia, get lost in the Grassrivers swamps, and end up at Mount Kalaga.

Roads & Vehicles
Transitioning between regions is a massive focus. With huge highways, rural roads, coastal bridges, and dirt paths, vehicle choice matters more than ever. A supercar is great for Vice City, but an off-road truck is mandatory for the countryside.

The Water Network
Because Leonida is inspired by Florida, water is utilized more than in any previous GTA. Expect a vast network of oceans, rivers, and swamps navigated by boats, speedboats (like the confirmed Shitzu Squalo), jet skis, and fishing boats.

How Big is it?
Rockstar hasn't provided exact map dimensions yet, so any number is an estimate. However, their official phrase "Vice City and beyond," combined with the six confirmed distinct regions, proves the sheer scale and unprecedented variety of the world.

JOIN THE DISCUSSION

What makes the GTA VI map so incredible isn't just its size, but its variety. It combines a massive metropolis, tourist beaches, tropical islands, gritty towns, industrial zones, swamps, and national parks.
