STOP KILLING GAMES OFFICIALLY CONDEMNS GTA VI LEAKERS
"Do not send these people your money." The movement speaks out against the CyberLeek crypto scam.
Following the recent wave of GTA VI gameplay leaks, the hackers known as CyberLeek attempted to justify their actions by claiming they were fighting for physical media and game preservation. However, the official Stop Killing Games movement has stepped in to completely distance themselves from this criminal behavior.
Taking to X, the organization released a strong statement addressing the leaks, the crypto scams, and the impact this has on the hardworking developers at Rockstar Games.
THE OFFICIAL STATEMENT
The organization pointed out that the sheer speed of Take-Two's DMCA takedowns basically confirms the footage is real. However, they strongly warned the community against falling for the hackers' crypto trap, as CyberLeek has been attaching QR codes and memecoin links to the leaked videos.
"Do not send these people your money, no matter how much sympathy you may feel for their actions. This is illegal, and frankly, we feel for everyone at Rockstar having to go through this ordeal again, especially just over a week before Rockstar’s own official 'Extended Look' premieres."
They emphasized that using illegal means to make a point is completely unacceptable and actively harms the fight for consumer rights. While many players might disagree with the corporate decisions regarding digital-only futures, SKG reminded everyone that there are thousands of developers who poured their hearts into this project—and they are the ones suffering the most right now.
A HARSH REMINDER
The movement also dropped a reality check for the hackers, reminding them that history is not on their side. The last person who leaked GTA VI material back in 2022 ended up facing severe legal consequences and an indefinite hospital order.
At the end of the day, Stop Killing Games seriously doubts that CyberLeek actually cares about physical media. This entire operation is exactly what it looks like: a destructive stunt designed to push a cryptocurrency scam.
JOIN THE DISCUSSION
It is great to see the official Stop Killing Games movement shutting down these scammers who tried to hijack a legitimate community cause.
Do you think these hackers will face the same legal consequences as the 2022 leaker? And how do you think this situation affects the morale at Rockstar just days before their official Netflix event? Let us know your thoughts below!
