NEXT-GEN IMMERSION: BREAKING DOWN THE "DELIGHTS" CLUB LEAK

From dynamic lighting to insane NPC interactions, Rockstar is taking ambient world-building to another level.

Welcome back to ViceHarbor! We have all seen the latest leaked gameplay information circulating online, and it is time to break down what it actually means for the game's RAGE engine. The leak gives us a deep dive into a new strip club called Delights, and the level of detail Rockstar is pushing is absolutely mind-blowing.

Here is a complete breakdown of everything revealed from the footage:

THE DANCERS & PERFORMANCES
  • Next-Level Animations: The main-stage dancer performs a lengthy, continuous routine with multiple animations flowing naturally into one another. The dancer uses the entire stage and pole throughout the performance instead of looping a single short animation.
  • Insane Detail: The strippers feature highly detailed jiggle physics that react dynamically to their movements and animations. Additionally, dancers feature detailed tattoos, jewelry, makeup and hairstyles.
  • Off-Stage Activity: Multiple dancers can be seen away from the main stage interacting with customers around the club.

AI, DIALOGUE & THE BINOCULARS
This is where the AI really shows off its new capabilities:
  • Dynamic Reactions: Dancers directly acknowledge nearby customers with unique dialogue, including "I've been waiting for you, daddy". Meanwhile, NPCs around the stage actively watch and react to the performance while other customers continue their own activities. NPCs can even be heard catcalling dancers, including one saying, "Here kitty, kitty!".
  • The Binocular Mechanic: Jason can equip binoculars inside the club and use them to get a closer look at NPCs. The binoculars feature variable zoom with an on-screen zoom indicator.
  • Creep Recognition: In an amazing display of interactivity, a dancer reacts directly to Jason while he looks at her through the binoculars, saying, "Ooh... I like you".

THE ATMOSPHERE & ENVIRONMENT
  • A Densely Populated World: The interior is densely populated with dancers, customers, bartenders and other NPCs. NPCs have noticeably varied outfits and appearances.
  • Lighting & Layout: Colored stage lighting dynamically illuminates Jason, dancers, NPCs and the surrounding environment. This stage lighting continuously shifts between red, blue and purple throughout the performance. The club features several distinct areas, including the main stage, bar, seating areas and curtained/partitioned sections.
  • Ambient Life: The footage shows a large amount of simultaneous ambient activity rather than the club becoming a scripted sequence when Jason approaches the stage. The club remains active while Jason freely moves around, with performances and NPC activity continuing simultaneously. Even the TVs throughout the club appear to be playing their own programming, and the interior is filled with unique signage, posters and neon advertising.

If this is just the level of ambient detail inside one single interior like Delights, imagine what the streets of Vice City will feel like! The fact that NPCs recognize you staring at them through binoculars completely changes how we will interact with the open world.

What is your favorite detail from this leak? Does the continuous ambient activity make you more hyped for the RAGE engine upgrades? Drop your thoughts below!
